Iowa Hawkeye News

Interesting story over at Hugging Harold Reynolds, via the Daily Iowan, about the alleged sexual assault by members of the Hawkeye Football team from about six months ago. Not a good sign, nor is the state of the Hawkeye football team in general the last few years. Captain Kirk needs to get control of his program back, and quick.

Where You Came From

Time once again for my (sort of) weekly feature 'Where You Came From', where i take a look at the different countries that have visited this site, as well as the search terms that brought you here.

ESPN 3?

There seems to be a lot of internet chatter about a change over at ESPN. Rumor has it that they are toying with the idea of turning ESPN Classic into ESPN 3 and making it a soccer-centered channel, with the English Premier League it's primary goal to obtain broadcasting rights to.

Wow. Very interesting, and one i am in full support of. I try to watch one or two EPL games each weekend on Fox Sports Channel, and an MLS game or two each week. Plus, with all the National Team appearances coming up in the next two years, it would be a great idea to have one place to watch all these games. It will be interesting to see how/if this develops...

Quick Post

Alright, have to throw this up real quick before my weekend officially begins. And i am still at work for another two hours or so. Well, at work in body at least. Definitely not at work in mind. Like, at all.

Anyway, heard on the radio this morning that Steve Kerr and/or Robert Sarver were up in Detroit yesterday or the day before to interview Pistons Asst. Coach Terry Porter for the vacant head coaching position with the Suns.

I LOVE this option. I had not thought of him before, and had not heard his name mentioned, but i think it's a great fit. Listen to his qualifications: He's a former player (Kerr likes that), he was a point guard (Good for Nash), he was on championship-caliber teams teams (in San Antonio and Portland), he has been a head coach (Milwaukee), and has been an assistant coach with the Pistons the last two years.

Let me re-iterate this: I LOVE this choice. Hire him now. Hardly anyone else has even piqued my interest, and somehow i forgot about Porter. But i think he'd be a great fit here in Phoenix.

I'm Lazy

So what. It's been a crazy week or two. And by crazy, i mean not at all crazy, i'm just lazy.

There's a lot of things i should be writing about, including but not limited to Mike D'Antoni's departure, The Dbacks still being the best team in baseball, and the Vikings (just because).

But, i'm not going to write about any of them. Nor will i for the next few days, as i have friends in town for a Bachelor Party (not my own - poor bastard). Go someplace else, like all the awesome links i have to the right. Some of my favorites that i check every day -

Manny Being Manny

I really can't stand the Red Sox, or anything about them really, but this video does crack me. I think more so because Steve Phillips is practically peeing himself while this plays, but it is pretty funny just watching Manny...

The Chuckster Rocks

Couple things before i start this video: First, the Chuckster is awesome, and he's one of the funniest people on tv. Second, Inside the NBA on TNT is the best sports studio show in any sport on any channel and it's not even close. Third, this is the site's 300th post, so umm, good for me.

On to the video. The Anchorman references are classic, and EJ pulled off an impressive prank here...
